Downloading Table Citations
If you want to cite a table from Historical Statistics of the United States in your own work, or if you use reference management software such as EndNote, ProCite, and Refwords to keep track of works you have consulted while researching, you may find it convenient to download a table's citation. To download a table's citation, first navigate to the table you are interested in, and click on the Table tab, if it isn't already highlighted.
To view and download citations:
From the Documentation drop-down list in the
left pane, select Citation. The
table citation is displayed in the left pane.
To download the citation, select the citation format:
RIS: The RIS format is a widely used syntax for citation files. With RIS, the bibliographic information in the citation is tagged with a certain set of tags (such as Y1 for primary publication date). (For more information about RIS, see http://www.refman.com/support/risformat_tags_01.asp.)
Text (Text file with no formatting): Text files do not include any delimiters (tags or commas); they include the table citation as it appears online.
CSV (Comma Separated file in Excel format): With CSV files, the bibliographic data are separated by commas.
Click Download. You will be prompted to open or save the file on your computer.
