Creating an Organizational Account


If you are the librarian or the electronic resource manager of an organization or an institution, during a trial request, you are given the option to create an organizational account and access the HSUS site through your Library or Institution-held subscription.

If you are a registered user from the UK or other countries outside of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America, you will need to activate your account number to get access (i.e., PIN) and fill out the organization account information requested after PIN activation.

As an administrator of an organizational account, you can do the following:

 To create an Organizational Account for users outside the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America:

  1. First, register a personal account for yourself (see creating a free personal account). Once you have registered, click the Login option that appears in the header of the page.

  2. Enter your Email Address and Password.

  3. Click Login. The PIN activation page is displayed.

Note: If you forget your password, click on the Forgot Your Password? link and supply your Email address. We will email your password reminder to you.

  1. Enter your PIN.

  2. Click Submit. An account creation form is displayed.

Enter the following details in the account creation form.

Note: All the fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

  1. Enter the Name of the organization.

  2. Enter the type.

  3. Enter the Number of Sites.

  4. Select the Organization Size from the drop-down list.

  5. Specify the range of Annual Budget.

  6. Enter the Address of the organization.

  7. Enter the alternate address of the organization.

  8. Specify the State/County/Province.

  9. Choose the name of the Country from the list.

  10. Enter the Post or ZIP Code.

  11. Create a Question or sentence to help remind you of your password, if you forget your password.

  12. Specify the IP addresses for which the subscription has to be set up.

  13. Click Submit. An organizational account is created and assigned to the subscription with the activation PIN.

Note:

  1. If an account exists with the same organization name, you are requested to contact customer support as prompted by the system.

  2. Registered users from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America, must first request a trial, in order to become an administrator of an organizational account.
